Affiliate disclosure

How Espace makes money

Espace is free to read. To keep it that way, some links on this site earn a referral commission when you sign up to a product through them. This is called affiliate marketing.

When you click a link marked as an affiliate link and subsequently purchase or subscribe to a product, Espace receives a percentage of the sale or a fixed fee — at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is identical whether you arrive via an affiliate link or by typing the URL directly into your browser.

Which products earn Espace a commission?

Espace currently has affiliate relationships with the following hotel technology vendors:

Vendor Programme type
RoomRaccoon Referral commission per conversion
Cloudbeds Referral commission per conversion
Sirvoy Referral commission — first 6 months of subscription

This list is updated as new partnerships are established. If a product appears on Espace without an affiliate relationship, it is noted in the relevant article or simply carries no disclosure label.

Every article containing affiliate links carries a disclosure notice at the top of the page, directly below the article meta information:

"Some links in this article earn Espace a referral commission at no extra cost to you."

Individual affiliate links use the HTML attributes rel="nofollow sponsored" as recommended by Google's webmaster guidelines for commercial links.

Affiliate links on Espace use the URL pattern /go/vendor-name (for example /go/roomraccoon) which redirects to the vendor's website via a tracked URL. This allows Espace to log click data and ensures that if a vendor changes their affiliate URL, only one location needs to be updated.

What this means for our recommendations

The existence of an affiliate relationship does not determine which products appear on Espace, how they are ranked, or what verdict they receive.

A few concrete examples of how this works in practice:

RoomRaccoon earns Espace a commission and receives a strong review — because for European independent hotels in the 10–100 room range, it genuinely is the strongest all-in-one option available.

Cloudbeds also earns Espace a commission and receives a more qualified review — because the support issues are real, the pricing is opaque, and European hoteliers deserve to know that before signing a multi-year contract.

SabeeApp appears in our roundup articles without an affiliate relationship — because it's a relevant option for our audience regardless of whether Espace earns anything from it.

If Florence would not recommend a product to a fellow hotelier over coffee, it does not receive a recommendation on Espace — regardless of whether there is an affiliate programme.

Editorial independence

Espace does not accept:

  • Paid placements or sponsored rankings
  • Payment to change, soften, or remove a review
  • Free product access in exchange for positive coverage
  • Vendor-written content published as editorial

Vendors may contact Espace to flag factual inaccuracies in a review. If an error is confirmed, it is corrected and noted. The commercial relationship is never a factor in editorial decisions.

A note on review methodology

Every recommendation on Espace is based on one of three sources:

Direct deployment experience — systems Florence evaluated or deployed during 8 years running independent hotels in Europe.

Structured evaluation — for systems not personally deployed, a structured assessment covering demo, trial, pricing review, and cross-referencing against verified user reviews on Hotel Tech Report, Capterra, and G2.

Industry research — market data and statistics drawn from verified sources (Eurostat, Hotel Tech Report, Statista), always cited.
